Happy 2nd Birthday

Today was Emma's birthday. I can't believe I now have a 2 year old. I mean really? Is it possible? I keep thinking of our hospital stay and her in that great newborn stage. She's now becoming a little girl. No more baby left. We had a nice relaxing day around the house. She totally melted my heart this morning. She dragged her doll house to the edge of the table and was grabbing the pieces for it from her toy bin. She'd play with each piece as she got it, and I was just sitting her listening to her talk with the little people. Too cute! I tried to make meals I knew she'd eat well today, so we had scrambled eggs and corned beef hash for lunch, and then for dinner we had sheppard's pie. She ate really good! Yay, after days of her not really eating. So then the hubs came home and we all headed to Build-A-Bear. She loved doing it, except for getting her to pick an outfit out, there were seriously just too many choices. We're going to get her an outfit or two for Christmas we've decided. We then came home and sang happy birthday over some left over cake. She actually got the blowing out of the candles tonight and did both of them rather easily. She was standing on a regular dining room chair, sunglasses on upside down, in the dark dining room while we sang to her. It was too cute. We then all sat on the couch eating some cake, her just the icing though. Probably not the greatest decision 15 minute before bedtime. Lols, but she went down well anyways.

We dropped our camera off at Best Buy to get fixed last night, they said it'd take 2-6 weeks, so I need to get the pics off of the hubs phone sometime to post, but not tonight. Hopefully tomorrow.

Over 2 years in the making...

Well, two years ago, today we were in the hospital and I was being started on Pitocin to get the labor started with my beautiful bundle of joy Emma Rose. I can't believe that 1:07AM tomorrow she'll be 2 years old!

We had a great but rainy weekend.

Saturday morning we trekked out to the Apple Festival. It started raining even harder so we quickly perused the isle's quickly. Emma did play two games and won some prizes, she got a crown & wand, and we of course had to get some kettle corn.

Later in the day we headed out to Millersburg to my cousin's wedding. It was beautifully decorated, the food was oh so very scrumptious, and the wedding couple looked blissfully happy. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Christopher Lukunich! (Hoping the settlement of your new house goes very smoothly today)

Sunday was Emma's party day. We spent the morning having a yummy breakfast of waffles, getting ready, cooking food, decorating, and then party, party time after nap. All 6 sets of her grand & great - grand parents came, and both of her aunt's and their boyfriends came out to celebrate. The food was yummy. She got lots of great stuff from everyone. The hubs and me were quite exhausted by the time we got done with bedtime for Emma, cleaned up the decorations, did dishes, and re-organized and put away all of her new goodies. Now for a big overload of pictures.

Yummy waffles for breakfast.

How quickly a week can go...

I've been wanting to write up an entry all week but the time has just flown by. Let's start with last Saturday the 20th. We all headed over to my aunt's house for a surprise 50th celebration around their campfire. It was fun, she was surprised, and good times with family!

As always it feels good to get the creative juices flowing. And I used some new techniques, actually scrapped about myself, and used some color choices I normally wouldn't have selected.

The rest of this week has been getting ready for Emma's 2nd Birthday party this Sunday. We have a crazy weekend ahead. Apple Festival, my cousin's wedding, last minute party errands, and the birthday party.

Emma got two presents today. One from her birthday buddy on my LSB group. She got a my little pony and a shirt. And then Tonya from my work got her a stuffed Eeyore, socks, books, bubbles, sesame street hair clips, Halloween picture frame, and a duck. She's loving it all. I'm so excited to see her open presents this year. Since at Christmas time she was horribly sick and just not into it.

It's been a rough week personally for me. So much is swirling around my head. I just want to thank my LSM's and Deann from the very depths of my heart for listening and being here for me. I really don't know what I'd do without you amazing ladies!!! Love each of you!!!

Speaking of amazing ladies...check out this awesome name siggy Lisa made me for my blog. LOVE IT! And with that, peace out!!!

A Woman Should Have...

MAYA ANGELOU

says

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough
money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
something
perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams
wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD

a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a past juicy
enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her
old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
one friend who
always makes her laugh.. and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a good piece
of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her
family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
eight
matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for
a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .
a feeling of
control over her destiny..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD

how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit
a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend
without;
ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN
SHOU LD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK
AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her
childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she
would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
how to live

EVERY

whom she can trust,
whom she can't,

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a

SEND THIS TO 3 WOMEN....
You will have good luck for an entire day..

SEND THIS TO 6 WOMEN....
You will have

Overload of the Past 2 Days

We've had an exciting two days around here. Yesterday Emma went for her first haircut. I was a little nervous, b/c we have really hit the stage of funky tantrums in this household. And I can never touch her head anymore. But she did amazingly. Sat there like such a big girl. I think her favorite part though was looking at herself in the big mirror.

And because she did so well we went to a park on the way. I was able to get these two shots of her. Love the one of her looking straight on...my little girl is getting so big!

Today we got to meet a LSB from our sub-group on BBC. Jenn, Ricky, and little Miss Avery. At first Avery stuck very closer to her mama, but she finally warmed up and her and Emma had so much fun! Here's a few pics:

Avery - "Shoe?" as in please take it off. Emma - Yes I have a foot too!

In other randomness. I had a pretty strange occurrence happen tonight. So, anyone who knows me, knows that I must always have a stock up my iced tea on hand. I had opened my last gallon today. So, headed to the gas station to fill my tank. Got some more iced tea and a cappuccino. Anyways, I'm standing in line waiting to check out, and this burly man walks in. He's staring, I sense it and glance at him quickly and then turn my attention else where. I go up to the counter to check out and he's standing behind me and says to the clerk "She has pretty feet". Did I really just hear that? I don't say anything. The clerk doesn't say anything. So the guy behind me says "I don't think he heard me, I said she has pretty feet". I turn around laugh a little bit and say "Um, thanks". And then book it out of there as soon as I got my change. So, apparently my feet are looking good!!! Lols.
