* Trick-or-Treat *

So, for Emma's 3rd official Trick-or-Treat night I would say it was a smashing success. She totally got into it, running from house to say, saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". Although she did trip on the sidewalk and got a bad booboo on her thumb, which she is totally milking it. She holds her right hand like it's in a cast and will say booboo continuously asking for kisses to make it better. It really is cute. Now for the pictures of our little summer fairy:

Doctor, Doctor

tell me the news...I've got a bad case of lovin' you.

I don't know why but this song popped in my head this morning as me and Emma were playing Dr. MIL gave us a soft gel pack to put in the fridge when Emma gets a booboo. She found it on the table, so I opened it for her and she'd put it on places on me, pat it, say booboo, then lift it and give the spot a kiss to make it all better! She melts my heart.

In other news, tonight is our Trick-or-Treat night. I feel like I'm a little kid looking forward to christmas morning as excited as I've been for today to finally get here. Unfortunately, it's only going to be in the 40's. Can we say BRRRRRRR!!! Went to Target this am to pick up a hat and some mittens. Hopefully we'll last for a little while if the wind is whipping around like it has been the past 2 days. Will be posting pictures later tonight.

Thursday Thirteen

My 3rd edition. Woo-hoo! Today's theme is going to be quotes that have been popping up at me a lot lately or my favorites.

1. The days are long but the years are short.
2. Never make someone your world when they've only made you an option.
3. I do not want to get to the end of my life and find I've only lived the length of it, I want to have lived the width of it as well.
4. Love the life you live, live the life you love.
5. Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footsteps, and kill nothing but time.
6. Life is about what you give, not what you get.
7. Realize what's important in your life, what you can live with, but more importantly what you can't live without.
8. A daughter may outgrow your lap, but will never outgrow your heart.
9. I am me & that's who I want to be.
10. The tattoo is the mark of the soul. It can act as a window through which we can see inside, or it can be a shield to protect us from those who cannot see past the surface.
11. If you wait too long for the perfect moment, the perfect moment will pass you by.
12. If you're waiting for a sign...this is it. Do it. It will be amazing!
13. Be kind - for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Drawing a Blank

I feel like I have so much to say but nothing is really coming to me.

That's all...

Manic Monday

What is the greatest value that guides your life?
- Super toughy...this is hard to narrow it down to just one, but a main one would be trust. A little too much and always with anyone.
Fill in the blank: If I could be anybody besides myself, I would be ______.
- I'd like to be the more focused, put together self I will be in a few years. Otherwise, I'm happy being me.
What is one item in your house that you should really throw out but probably never will?
- I really don't have this problem. I'm the type of person who gets sick & tired of seeing the stuff so I purge pretty regularly, especially the stuff that needs to go.

Peacefulness

This moment right now and here is my favorite moment of the whole weekend. I get to remember everything we've managed to squeeze into the past two days of "time off", "relaxation", or whatever other word you like to associate with weekend. The hubs and Emma are up in bed sleeping. I get to enjoy Army Wives and then following they air repeats of Grey's Anatomy, all while finishing off my last cup of iced tea for the night. My little piece of heaven ending the busy week that just happened before jumping into the next.

To recap this weekend, I was getting a little down because we have planned to go to a fall harvest/festival thing a couple times this month and each time rain has prevented us from going. I mean seriously, it's not like it even rained that much, but the saturdays we had planned it sure did! But this weekend, they actually re-scheduled the event for Sunday...woo-hoo for how much we lucked out. Esp. since it rained buckets on Saturday and was beginning to think we weren't going to hit any fun fall festivals this year.

The highlights of the day was pony rides, hay rides, bounce houses, winning gold fish, trick-or-treating, face painting, carving pumpkins. It was a great day! And this mama is very happy we got to finally do it all!

Now for the overload of pictures:

Baby It's Cold Outside...

So, not to toot my own horn, but I will, since I went on my second walk this week! Yes, me bundling up Emma in the cold and heading out for a walk. 1st walk earlier in the week was 25 minutes. This morning's walk was an hour. I decided to take a long loop behind our house that goes up these steep hills, and then along the riverfront. It was a little too long for as cold as it was. On the list to get this weekend, gloves for Emma's little fingers. Grabbed the camera hoping to get some fall shots. We also picked up some big leaves to do an art project later on this weekend. Now for some pictures:

Here we are at the top of the hill.

Scrapbooking Crop 10.18.08

So, I finally took the pictures yesterday and got them uploaded this am. The crop was from 9am-9pm. The day flew by. We got there around 9 and were pulling out of the parking lot at 8 very tired. They had door prizes every hour, unfortunately no one from our table won anything though, and super yummy snacks and food.

I got a total of 6 layout's "done", really one 1 completely finished, journaling and title, but the other 5 are for the most part done.

I do still need to unload my van and drag it all back up to my room and unpack, but perhaps I'll get around to that this weekend when I can get the hubs help. :o)

The Layouts:

Here we are at the end of the day, after lugging everything out to the van waiting for the grand prize drawing. ( & no we didn't plan on matching)

And finally a shot of the van all loaded up. I did overpack, horribly! 2/3's of the right side of the van was all of my stuff!!!
